The VENTY Study - Now Enrolling
Ear infections are one of the most common childhood illnesses. In some children, ear infections lead to ear pain, irritability, fever, difficulty sleeping or hearing properly.
Antibiotic medication is typically the first method of treating ear infections, If medication does not help, your doctor may recommend a surgery to insert ear tubes (also known as “grommets” or “ventilation tubes”) to keep the middle ear aerated for a prolonged period to drain or prevent the accumulation of fluid in the middle ear. Traditionally, ear tube surgery has been performed in an operating room, with your child put under general anesthesia (unconscious) during the procedure.
Right now, doctors at select centers in the US are studying a new technology that allows ear tubes to be placed in the office or clinic, without the need for general anesthesia. The technology is called Solo+ TTD, and the procedure is currently being offered through the VENTY Clinical Study.
Why Participate?
If your child is between 6 months – 12 years old and struggles with ear infections or chronic fluid in the middle ear, your child may qualify for the VENTY Clinical Study. The study is for Solo+ TTD, an investigational technology that allows ear tubes to be placed right in the doctor’s office, without the need for general anesthesia. Participation in the study will include:
